Carved to mark five years of Painted Coyote Creations, this one-of-a-kind skull pays tribute to the very first piece I ever sold — the original Heavy Metal skull, a longtime favorite of my late father’s. “Heavy Metal” across the top is inlaid with genuine Canyon Diablo meteorite; “5 Years” on the jaw is inlaid with blue and molten-magma synthetic opal. The jaws are propped open and threaded with chain, hand-painted in metallic, acrylic, and glow-in-the-dark paint, with “Painted Coyote Creations” carved into the crown and a saloon-style “2021–2026″ carved into the back. Fairy lights sit inside the braincase, switchable from a battery pack nestled beneath the skull in a metal screen basket. Five years of history, hand-built with real hardware and finished with E6000 adhesive.
