Who Painted Coyote Creations Is
Painted Coyote Creations was founded by Colette Cormier in 2021 after taking a chance on carving. Shortly afterwards she decided to focus on repurposing natural materials. Since then each art piece has served as an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, and bring a fresh, artistic perspective on life after death in nature.
Painted Coyote Creations is located in Toms River, New Jersey, USA and aims to to provide unique art pieces using upcycled materials to the United States, and someday, the rest of the world as well.
What I Do
My art pieces focus on repurposing materials such as bones, shells, and wood. I enjoy turning them into art you can wear, hang, light up, and more from hand-carved not-your-average drinking horns and jewelry to light-up skull lamps and clocks. I seek to preserve nature in new and artistic ways in addition to bringing awareness of the world around us.
My Mission
I strive to ensure our materials are ethically sourced and to help support small businesses that sell natural resources along the way. Each work of art is an opportunity to spread awareness of materials used or the animal it’s created in the likeness of. Every time you purchase one of my art pieces you create an opportunity to help better the world and the environment.
Meet the Artist Behind the Work

Colette Cormier
Colette, the founder and vibrant personality behind Painted Coyote Creations, has been immersed in the world of art since her earliest memories. Growing up, she found inspiration in the diverse personalities and passions of her family members from her father’s rugged mountainman lifestyle and her mother’s love of colors to her grandmother’s deep connection to the West. All of this blended with her personal affection for wildlife and a vivid imagination to give her a unique artistic foundation work from.
It was the sudden loss of her father in 2020 that fueled a new creative medium when she needed a way to distract herself from the chaotic and distressful event. She went from 2D sketches to carving animals and designs from bone and horn. Her first sold carving, a mammoth pendant was what stemmed her to begin moving towards a new, professional direction. Painted Coyote Creations was officially founded in April of 2021.
Since then, much has happened: fairs, commissions, moving to New Jersey and purchasing her first house nearly five years afterwards. With an optimistic perspective and an intense drive to see things through new things continue to spring forth.
