Description
Modeled after the pygmy hippopotamus, this little guy stands out with its tiny ears and distinct shape between brass beads, horn hairpipe, and glass chevron beads. The hippo itself is carved from warthog tusk ivory and all of it is strung on an artificial sinew cord connected with a lobster clasp.
No animal pendant or miniature is ever generic on Painted Coyote Creations. Each one is given a specific species and painstakingly researched in order to take the core assets that make that species what it is and apply it to a piece of material.
~Hippos are the third largest land mammal that is living today. Despite their docile look they are considered aggressive and can run up to 28 miles per hour. The average run speed of a human male is approximately 8 miles per hour. Despite this though, the hippo is listed as vulnerable due to poaching and habitat loss.
