A Twist in the Trail

Slow and Steady Wins...What?

I know my internet presence has been lacking, to say the least. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been creating, it’s just been a slow process. As of current, there have been some big things going on behind the scenes, and they won’t be slowing down until everything’s in place. I’m almost a one woman army with everything I handle. An awesome flex, however, that means I have to shift my priorities from time to time to focus on the important things.

I do have some pretty awesome art pieces that are on the verge of being finished…they’re just on that last step. Without further ado, let us continue on with the big reasons why this post is being made!

From Western Winds to Tidal Whispers: A Farewell Sale and a New Beginning

Painted Coyote Creations is heading East! Starting this July, I’ll be carving, creating, and dreaming from a new home base in New Jersey. It’s a major leap, but the spirit of my work—the wild touch, the love for natural materials, the connection to untamed places—remains rooted exactly where my artistic journey first began.

Luckily, Operation Relocation isn’t without a plus for many readers. Keep reading to find out!

Final Ivory Sale – 15% Off Until July 1st

With this relocation comes one important legal change: New Jersey prohibits the sale, transport, or possession of any kind of ivory—yes, even ethically sourced warthog tusk. That means I can’t take any of my tusk carvings with me.

So, for a limited time, I’m offering a 15% discount on all ivory artwork through July 1st. This is your last chance to claim these wild, one-of-a-kind pieces before they become a closed chapter in the Painted Coyote Creations story.

Here’s a peek at what that looks like:

  • A $30 carving? Now just $25.50.

  • A $75 piece? Snag it for $63.75.

Plus, I’ll be listing any remaining raw tusks and ivory scraps soon—once they’re gone, they’re truly gone for good.

Local Pickup: Last Call for Elko, NV Customers

If you’re local to Elko, Nevada, you’ve got until July 1st to grab your purchase in person—no shipping fees, no hassle. This is a great option if you’ve been eyeing something larger like the Bison Skull Clock, which doesn’t exactly ship light. This also includes whole warthog tusks as these cannot be shipped to certain states (only four are prohibited, including New Jersey).

Consider this your friendly nudge to scoop up those bigger pieces before they hit the road (or the shipping calculator)!

What’s Changing—And What Isn’t

While the zip code is changing, the soul of Painted Coyote Creations remains untouched.

  • I’ll still be hand-carving each piece.

  • I’ll still be using found and ethically-sourced, natural materials.

  • I’ll still be channeling the spirit of wild places into everything I make.

The biggest difference? I’ll be doing it from New Jersey forests and coastlines instead of high desert landscapes. A different kind of wild, but wild nonetheless. I’m looking forward to bringing that West meets East vibe to events and my site!

So… Why the Move?

This next chapter isn’t just about the art—it’s about building a future.

I’m making this move to put down roots, buy a home, and build long-term stability. That also means, for now, I’m job hunting full-time while carving steps into the next phase of life. My art is taking a brief backseat while I get this foundation in place.

I’m not unaware of the difficulties, especially when on-site positions normally want you to start sooner than later so…if you happen to know of any W-2 positions paying $60k+ (remote or in NJ), I’m all ears. I’m wide open to fresh starts, new challenges, and finding work that supports this amazing life I’m building.

To everyone who’s followed the Painted Coyote Creations journey—thank you. Whether you’re here for the art, the process, or the personal stories, your presence is part of what keeps this coyote carving. It’s been a wild ride, and it’s only just beginning.

Stick around. The next chapter’s going to be a good one.

With gratitude and grit,
– Colette
