It is our pleasure to announce the grand opening of the Painted Coyote Creations website, marking a significant milestone in our journey of creativity, community, and artistic expression. This website is a start in a significant shift towards a more business-oriented approach to art without losing any of the personality and love that stands for who and what Painted Coyote Creations is.

New Around These Parts

Let me, Colette, be the first to introduce you to Painted Coyote Creations and our brand new website. What you may have already learned is that we feature handmade art pieces spanning a variety of categories but having one main thing in common: most of the materials used if not all are natural materials. We do our best to make sure each material from wood to bone is ethically-sourced however there are certain exceptions: hunting, trapping, and the agricultural industry. In these three areas animal parts have the potential of going to waste if not utilized because, with the exception 0f certain trophy hunts, it is the meat and hides often taken.

The art Painted Coyote Creations leans into is functional. What this means is that you’ll often see drinkware, lights, clocks, and jewelry. We aren’t exclusive to functional art because when inspiration pops up there’s no telling what it might be. This mindset also goes into picking products for our merch. Most of the products featured are eco-friendly.

Why Animal Parts?

A big question from many newcomers is why we opt to work with the byproducts of industries relating to animals. One big reason is because of our goal to offer you an opportunity to see beauty first. How often do we ick at something because we realize it came from death? Yet like the tree that falls in the forest death is a natural part of all living things. The difference is animals are easier to relate to yet they often have shorter lifespans than the trees cut down to produce furniture and other materials. The other reason comes from the history Colette was raised with which involved the fur trade of the 1800s. Her father, Leo Cormier, was by all accounts, a mountain man who originally believed in not killing an animal for sport and not letting any of its parts go to waste. Hairpipe, leather, seed beads, and more were something Colette was constantly intrigued by. As she grew up, the intrigue evolved into what started Painted Coyote Creations and what can be seen throughout the art created.

One Person, Many Hats

While it is expected to maintain a business-type presentation during our e-mails and certain posts, Painted Coyote Creations at the time of this post features one person, Colette. This business was founded in 2021 during a traumatic period that started in late 2020 where art offered a temporary escape. This newfound love of carving stayed to blossom into what you are seeing now. At the moment nothing has been outsourced so everything you are seeing has been created by one person from the art to the website and much more.

We Have What Now?

To go hand in hand with a new website is new ‘merch’. No, we aren’t a big company run by many people and known by all but we do create amazing art. Our merch offers a different form of art via print-on-demand. This offers an alternative to purchasing a handmade art piece in the form of a more affordable form. Not only can you support an artist but you can look awesome doing it! The other awesome fact is that this art was also created by Painted Coyote Creations. It is first hand drawn and then imported to a drawing program to create bold colors and works better for creating unique apparel and merchandise for you. There may be a new ‘prints’ category somewhere in the future as well!

Seasonal Fun

One specific type of merch we will have is seasonal or holiday-themed. These particular art pieces were created with the holidays in mind and therefore will only become available for a limited time during their respective seasons/holidays. Afraid you’ll miss the themed art merch? Subscribe to our newsletter to know when they drop and know when they’re going to leave!

With that being said, we do have some seasonal merch available for the duration of the sale. When the grand opening sale ends, the seasonal merch will go away until later this year. So don’t wait if you find something you like!

A Sale, What Sale?!

We know you weren’t content with missing any potential sales or amazing new art drops from the time we closed our original website to when we launched this one. That’s on us. This won’t make up for a lost ‘perfect’ gift but maybe you’d like to treat yourself or someone else to something for an upcoming holiday or because everyone deserves to spoil themselves!

To make up for those missed holidays we are offering sale prices of up to 20% on almost all of our handmade products. This sale is as one-of-a-kind as our art pieces are and will not happen again any time soon. This is an opportunity to own an original Painted Coyote Creations art piece at a fraction of the cost it normally is without losing any of the quality.

Benefits of Registering

Registration also allows you to create personalized wish lists, track your order history, and keep your payment information saved. Plus, it’s quick, easy, and free to sign up. In addition, have a voice on the blog by leaving comments on posts as well!

Meet the Author

“Honestly, for any one person there’s too much to say that a tiny biography can cover. I’m an artist, a parent, a child, a hiker, a gamer, so much. I love nature in all of it’s unrelenting beauty, and I absolutely love being able to throw myself into the fray when it comes to running my business. I don’t let the phrase ‘I don’t know’ rule my life. In fact, it’s a challenge that I make sure I face head on and therefore I’ve become a jack of all trades who isn’t prepared to stop learning.”
