Description
Indulge in the mystique of the Stitched/Skin Drinking Horn — a chilling collision of craftsmanship and macabre allure. Hand-carved to evoke the unsettling texture of stitched-together pieces of “skin,” each surface detail is intentional, methodical, and undeniably striking. A single eye gazes from within the design, adding eerie depth to a piece that’s as technically accomplished as it is viscerally provocative.
Born from a scrapped Halloween concept that started with stitches and was headed toward public domain horror imagery, this horn evolved into something more singular. Sealed completely in FDA-approved food-grade ArtResin, it’s safe for actual use as drinkware while preserving every hand-carved and hand-painted detail beneath a clear, durable surface. Capacity: approximately 12 liquid ounces.
This horn is not sold alone. It arrives with a hand-assembled genuine leather belt holder and sling, themed to match: different patches of scrap leather stitched together in the same skin-patch aesthetic as the horn itself. The sling includes two leather laces, two leather lace holders, the belt holder/upper sling portion, the lower sling portion, and a leather sling string.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE SLING
Laces arrive pre-inserted in both the belt holder/upper portion and the lower sling portion and can be adjusted for fit. To use the full sling: rotate the belt holder so the belt loop faces the inner curve of the horn. Thread one lace through one of the two holes flanking the belt loop, then run it through the opposite hole. Run both lace ends down through the lower sling portion (laces facing the outer curve of the horn) and insert them into the corresponding lower holes. Tie off with a knot or bow to secure. Note: leather holes are intentionally snug at first and will loosen naturally with wear and use.
Most drinking horns are sold plain, with simple designs, or with traditional and religious imagery. This is none of those things. Painted Coyote Creations makes functional art using horns that are typically byproducts of the agricultural industry, and this piece is its fullest expression of that intent.
